How we handle your information

What we collect

The early-access form asks for:

• Your email address (required).
• Your employment type (required): federal civilian employee, active-duty military, federal contractor, U.S. Postal Service employee, family or household member of a federal employee, or other.
• Optional details: your agency or department, your state of residence, an approximate annual pay range, and what typically happens to your pay during a shutdown.
• How you found us: if you arrived through a link with campaign tags, or from another website, we keep those tag values and that site’s domain name. Never the full address you came from.

We don’t ask for your name, exact salary, street address, date of birth, Social Security number, or any bank, card, or credit details. We don’t record your IP address.

Why we ask

• To email you when early access opens.
• To understand who Shutdown Hero could serve, so we build the right thing.
• To plan with future financial and program partners. When we do, we share counts and percentages, never your individual answers or your email address.
• To learn which outreach reaches the people who need this, so we put our effort where it works.

Visits to this site

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and Vercel Speed Insights to measure how fast pages load. Neither sets cookies, identifies you, or follows you to other sites. They show us totals only: pages viewed, where visitors came from, countries, device types, and loading times.

What we won’t do

We won’t sell your information. We won’t share your individual details with partners or advertisers. We won’t email you about anything other than Shutdown Hero.

Where it lives

Your answers are stored in private, secure storage hosted by a cloud provider. Only the Shutdown Hero team can access it.

When you email us

If you email hello@shutdownhero.com, we receive your email address, your message, and any information you include. We use that information to respond to your question or handle your request. Please don’t send Social Security numbers, bank or card details, identity documents, or payroll records.

Contact and removal

For questions about Shutdown Hero, privacy, or removal of your early-access signup, email hello@shutdownhero.com. For a removal request, use the address you signed up with so we can locate your signup. Every email we send to the list will include an unsubscribe link.

Changes to this notice

As Shutdown Hero grows, this notice will grow with it. If we start collecting anything new, we’ll explain it here first.
